Elliot B. Pasik is a trial and appellate attorney in private practice at 366 Pearsall Avenue, Cedarhurst, Long Island, NY 11516, (516) 371-2800, where he specializes in serious personal injury and general commercial litigation.  He is a graduate of Clark University, Worcester, Mass. (B.A.); and, Yeshiva University’s Cardozo School of Law (J.D.).  He additionally studied at Yeshiva Ohr Somayach, Israel.   He is a member of the Education and the Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

He is president and co-founder of the Jewish Board of Advocates for Children, Inc. (JBAC).  In 2005, he wrote letters to New York State legislative leaders, resulting in the passage of legislation authorizing nonpublic schools to fingerprint and background check their prospective employees.  He is also the proponent and drafter of two Resolutions of the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA), which endorse mandatory child protection laws for New York’s nonpublic schools.  He is the occasional author of articles appearing in the Jewish media including, “Resolving the Yeshiva Tuition Crisis”, The Jewish Press, Jan. 11, 2006, p.1; and, “How to Eradicate Abuse in our Communities”, The Jewish Press, April 25, 2007, p.7. iv.

Dr. Asher Lipner, Ph.D. obtained his doctorate in clinical psychology from Adelphi University’s Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies in 2004.  He is an ordained orthodox rabbi, having graduated with a Master’s degree in Talmud and Rabbinics from the Beth Medrash Govoha Rabbinical School in Lakewood, N.J. Dr. Lipner has worked as a psychotherapist in the Orthodox community for many years, and since 2004, has specialized, together with a trauma team, in providing clinical services for survivors of sexual abuse and their families.  He was recently honored by The New York Jewish Week as a local hero for his community activism, after organizing a national conference on sexual abuse in the orthodox Jewish community.  The September 2008 conference, held in Brooklyn, N.Y., brought together survivors, clinicians, advocates, rabbis, legislators, and law enforcement officials, to begin a process of working together to confront the severe problem of child sex abuse.  He is a native of San Francisco, and currently resides in Brooklyn, N.Y.  He is a vice president and co-founder of JBAC and can be reached at lipnera@gmail.com.
